Project Brief
A vacant lot in New York is to be developed as an artist residency. The facility must house studio spaces, temporary and permanent living quarters, and their supporting spaces, while still maintaining a commercial presence on the ground level.

Project Description
The building's large program pushed the overall height past the surrounding buildings. On the rooftop an opportunity arose to project film on a neighboring building's blank façade. Beyond the projection frame, the city unfolds and becomes a backdrop to the scene and has views to Lower Manhattan.
